Wenchi Crater Lake

Wenchi Crater Lake, nestled in Ethiopia’s central highlands, is one of the country’s most stunning natural attractions. The lake rests in the caldera of an extinct volcano, at an impressive 3,000 meters above sea level.
Visitors can explore the scenic surroundings, hike along the crater rim for breathtaking views, or take a boat trip to Deber Island. On the island, the monastery and Kirkos Church offer a glimpse into the region’s spiritual and historical heritage.
